Paytable
The mapping from outcomes to payouts, interpreted with version-specific probabilities and conditions.
Concept and usage
The mapping from outcomes to payouts, interpreted with version-specific probabilities and conditions.[1][2]
In context
A paytable maps game outcomes and conditions to payouts. It must be read alongside the wager unit, outcome probabilities, special features and game version. The largest displayed prize does not describe the full mathematics.[1][2]
Common confusion
A paytable is not a probability table and may omit feature-trigger conditions. One game name can cover several payout tables or regional variants, so a provider brand is not enough to identify the rules.[1][2]
Example
Two outcomes may both pay five times the stake while having very different probabilities. Reading the payout beside its likelihood shows where it fits in the complete model. Match the paytable to the game release, stake level and symbol rules.[1][2]
