Mobile Web
A service accessed in a mobile browser, distinct from native applications or store availability.
Concept and usage
A service accessed in a mobile browser, distinct from native applications or store availability.[1][2]
In context
Mobile web means a service accessed through a phone or tablet browser. It may use a responsive layout while still encountering browser, session or touch-flow limitations; “opens on mobile” says little about feature completeness.[1][2]
Common confusion
A mobile website is not a native app and has not thereby passed an app-store review. Desktop features, mobile-browser behavior and acceptance of users in a location are separate questions.[1][2]
Example
Assess mobile support by checking readable content, table operation, session handling, payment flow and assistive technology. One screen capture or device test does not establish overall compatibility. A page opening does not verify sign-in, forms or assistive-technology behavior.[1][2]
